Open Access

How it works

How does the publication funding work in practice?

During the submission process, authors will be asked to get a cost estimate for Open Access Article Processing Charges (APC). The system will request the corresponding author’s affiliation to be selected from a pre-defined list, and will match it against the list of institutions that are covered by the Open Access Funding Agreement. As the eligibility for funding is confirmed, the Article Processing Charge (APC) is waived and results in a zero cost estimate. Upon acceptance of the manuscript, a zero payment process may apply depending on individual institutional circumstances. For more information on the cost estimate and APC payment process, see.
