VCOT Open is an Open Access online-only international peer-reviewed journal. Its widened scope encompasses the entire discipline of veterinary surgery, that is Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgery, with a focus on surgical pathology, including cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease. It publishes review articles, retro- and prospective original clinical research as well as unique case reports. Translational and multidisciplinary topics are welcome and may include papers on non-experimental animal models for human disease, addressing and enhancing the concept of "One Health
