About the Journal

Aims and Scope

Sleep Science is a free open access journal, published since 2008 by the Brazilian Sleep Academy (ABS - Academia Brasileira do Sono), committed to publishing scientific studies focusing on sleep, chronobiology, shift work, and related subjects. The journal welcomes original studies, review articles, short communications, commentaries, and case reports in pre-clinical and clinical research regarding sleep physiology and neurobiology, sleep deprivation/restriction, sleep disorders, shift work and circadian misalignment, and biological rhythms.

Sleep Science's coverage includes:

- Sleep physiology and neurobiology
- Sleep deprivation and restriction
- Sleep disorders (including obstructive sleep apnea)
- Circadian and biological rhythms
- Shift work and shift workers' health
- Basic and clinical sleep science

Audience: Sleep medicine specialists, researchers, chronobiologists, neurologists, pulmonologists, psychiatrists, occupational health professionals, and other health professionals working with sleep disorders.

The journal publishes the following article categories: original article, review article, short communication, commentary, and case report.
