Aims and Scope
The Indian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (IJMPO) is an international peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing the science and practice of oncology across all age groups and subspecialties. It provides a multidisciplinary platform for the dissemination of high-quality research, clinical evidence, and expert perspectives that contribute to improved cancer care and outcomes worldwide.
Articles submitted to the journal undergo double-anonymous peer review. The IJMPO aims to publish rigorously reviewed, impactful articles that inform clinical decision-making, shape evidence-based practice, and foster global collaboration among oncologists, researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Medical Oncology and systemic anticancer therapies
- Paediatric Oncology and adolescent/young adult cancers
- Haemato-Oncology including leukaemia, lymphoma, and stem cell transplantation
- Onco-Pathology and molecular diagnostics
- Onco-Radiology, imaging innovations, and theranostics
- Supportive, palliative, and survivorship care
- Ethical, policy, and socioeconomic issues relevant to oncology practice.
The IJMPO is the official publication of the Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (ISMPO). Its mission is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world oncology practice—particularly in low- and middle-income countries—while maintaining relevance for the global cancer community. The journal encourages submissions that integrate translational research, clinical innovation, multidisciplinary approaches, and emerging technologies into cancer care.
The journal publishes a wide range of scholarly content, including original research articles systematic and narrative reviews, drug reviews, policy briefs and various other types as listed in the Author Instructions. This breadth ensures comprehensive coverage of current developments and ongoing debates in oncology.
The journal adheres to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) recommendations for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work, and follows best practices as outlined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
