About the Journal

Endoscopy International Open (EIO) is an Open Access journal in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy. It covers all aspects of endoscopic diagnosis, therapeutic procedures and technical developments. The journal investigates different treatment options, compares new devices and technical developments not only for diagnostic but also therapeutic approach. Special attention is given to results and clinical studies focusing on national or regional aspects and problems from all over the world which most often do not meet the overall international interests or standards of other international journals in the field.

EIO offers a new option to publish your results: with a fast and independent quality process and – based on the Open Access model – with a free, broad and easy access for everybody. Endoscopy International Open publishes original research articles, reviews and VidEIOs; as well as preliminary studies, discussions, letters to the Editor and Editorials with expedited processing times for the release of the very latest research results. All articles submitted to EIO undergo rigorous (blind) peer review.

Special attention should be paid to the Thieme Journal Policies.

As an Open access publication, all articles in EIO are made freely available for all to read and download from Thieme E-Journals.

To publish Open Access, EIO relies on Article Processing Charges (APCs). The current APC rates can be found here.
