Der Autor ist Mitglied der anatomischen Gesellschaft. Autorinnen/Autoren Timm J. Filler erlangte 1995 die Bezeichnung Facharzt für Anatomie, habilitierte 1998 mit der Venia legendi für das gesamte Fach Anatomie und 1999 zusätzlich mit der Venia legendi für Telematik. Von 2001–2002 leitet er die Abteilung für Telematik am Lehrstuhl für Radiologie und Mikrotherapie der Universität Witten/ Herdecke und erhielt 2005 in Münster die Bezeichnung eines außerplanmäßigen Professors verliehen. Seit 2009 leitet er die Sektion für Klinische Anatomie an der Heinrich-Heine- Universität Düsseldorf (HHU).
